BRUNSWICK – Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (R-GA) secured $1.5 million for the College of Coastal Georgia’s construction of a Campus Loop Road as part of the Fiscal Year 2024 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act.
This funding will improve campus safety and traffic flow by constructing a single outer loop road that provides access to parking lots and service zones, allowing campus police to quickly respond to campus emergencies.
“The College of Coastal Georgia is a wonderful institution that provides a world-class education right here in our district. Student safety is a priority, and this funding will ensure that campus police can quickly and efficiently respond to emergencies, while also alleviating traffic around the college,” said Rep. Carter.

The investment of $1.5 million from federal Community Project Funding toward the College’s Loop Road initiative will enhance campus safety by providing a connection between the north and south ends of campus. Most importantly, this roadway will allow campus police and emergency vehicles to respond quickly when time is of the essence.
