BLACKSHEAR – Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (R-GA) secured $2.5 million for roadway and logistical improvements at Pierce County Industrial Park as part of the Fiscal Year 2024 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act.
This funding will support construction of a new entrance to the Pierce County Industrial Park, which will soon overwhelm its existing infrastructure with the installation of a new rail spur and is already experiencing increased demand due to the area’s population and economic growth.
“I’m proud to represent a district that is attracting new businesses and residents daily. As the City of Blackshear continues to grow, it’s critical that we update our infrastructure to meet this demand. That’s why I supported the funding for a new entrance at Pierce County Industrial Park, and I am excited for this project to be completed,” said Rep. Carter.
“We are grateful for the continued support Congressman Carter provides the City of Blackshear. This funding will be instrumental in recruiting new industries to Blackshear,” said Mayor Keith Brooks.
