Build Back Broke threatens Americans' livelihoods

Washington, D.C. – House Democrats today rammed through President Biden’s radical socialist spending spree, capping off a year of historic government waste. U.S. Representative Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (R-GA) proudly voted no on the so-called Build Back Better agenda.

“This bill provides one of the largest SALT tax breaks ever, proving once and for all that the Biden agenda benefits the billionaires, not the bartenders. Today, I voted for the bartenders. For the single mothers who can no longer afford to put food on the table. For the taxicab drivers who can no longer afford gas. For the small business owners struggling to make ends meet, the lives of the unborn, and, most importantly, for residents of Georgia’s First Congressional District. The federal government has no business spending $3.5 trillion dollars that it doesn’t have to implement invasive, inefficient programs that nobody wants. The Bible says ‘by their works ye shall know them.’ After today’s vote, we know that Democrats are the party of millionaires, illegal immigrants, left-wing extremists, and bureaucrats,” said Carter.

The bill passed despite a disappointing Congressional Budget Office score, which found that Biden, Pelosi, and Schumer lied about the true cost of their spending spree.

“The Democrats’ radical wish-list is not fully paid for. Instead, generations of middle-class Americans will pay for Biden’s agenda with higher taxes and higher prices at gas pumps and grocery stores. Our supply chain is crumbling. Businesses can’t find workers. Drugs are pouring across our southern border. And the Commander-in-Chief is swiping America’s credit cards and putting his legacy ahead of his electorate.” said Carter.

The Senate will now determine the fate of a package that, among other terrible proposals:

  • Authorizes $4.5 trillion in new spending;
  • Hikes middle-class taxes by 30 percent;
  • Fuels highest spike in consumer prices in 40 years;
  • Builds 150 new government programs;
  • Wastes $550 billion on Green New Deal proposals;
  • Gives SALT tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires;
  • Fails to protect the lives of the unborn; and,
  • Grants amnesty to illegal immigrants.
