Happy Easter!
Amy and I wish you and your family a happy and blessed Easter. He is risen!

In memory of Officer Evans
Please join me in praying for the friends and family of Officer William "Billy" Evans who was killed at the Capitol this week. Our prayers are also with the other Capitol Police officer who was injured during the attack. I am grateful for the courage, service and sacrifice of the entire Capitol Police force.

a pathetic move by the mlb
The MLB announced that it is moving the 2021 All-Star Game out of Atlanta. This move is absolutely pathetic. The organization has completely caved to the lies of the Left and America's pastime has now become a political tool for the liberal mob.

Let's be clear - Georgia will be losing potentially hundreds of millions of dollars because Democrats, including the President of the United States, have been spreading lies about Georgia's Election Integrity Act. This move from the MLB is an attack on both our state and on free and fair elections.

"infrastructure"
America needs a strong, bipartisan infrastructure bill. Unfortunately, President Biden released an "infrastructure" plan this week that has very little to do with infrastructure.

Any infrastructure plan should be focused on our nation's ports, expanding rural broadband and actually improving infrastructure in this country. However, just five percent of the Biden plan will go to repairing roads and bridges, just one percent will go to airports and less than one percent will go to our waterways and ports. This is not an infrastructure plan. This is a disguise for the Green New Deal, tax increases, and other liberal policies.

We discuss this and more in this episode of Buddy's Briefing.

from our nation's capitol CCCVI
Monday, March 29, 2021:  I’m up early and on the radio this morning as I have a live interview on POTUS Radio on Sirius XM with Julie Mason Mornings to discuss last week’s hearing in the Energy and Commerce (E&C) Committee with the CEOs of Facebook, Twitter and Google, Georgia’s new Election Integrity Act and the COVID-19 vaccine. A link to my interview can be found here.  Once at my Savannah Office, I have a virtual meeting with Alzheimer’s Association advocates as we review their legislative priorities for this session followed by a virtual call with Georgia members of the National Association of Music Education.  Afterwards, I join in on our all staff conference call before meeting with representatives with the Forsyth Farmer’s Market as they share with me the exciting news about the federal grants they have received and the great work they are doing with these funds.

Next, I head out to beautiful Tybee Island where I meet with my good friend, Mayor Shirley Sessions along with City Manager Shawn Gillen and City Planning Consultant Alan Robertson.  Tybee Island has been hit hard by the pandemic as tourism has predictably declined, however things are really picking up now as last weekend was one of the busiest weekends for visitors that they have experienced in the past five years.  Afterwards, I head to Hutchinson Island in Savannah where I meet with my good friend, Tripp Tollison, CEO of the Savannah Economic Development Authority (SEDA) as he brings me up to date on the great interest in Savannah as a business attraction, business retention and expansion area.

Next, I join in on a virtual Georgia statewide ceremony for Congressional Awards recipients as we recognize over 50 medalists from across the state for their dedication to serving their communities and bettering themselves.  Once back home, I have a live interview on the Chris Salcedo show on Newsmax as we discuss the recently passed Georgia Election Integrity Act.  A link to my interview can be found here.

Wednesday, March 31, 2021: After participating in the annual Savannah Tourism Leadership Council’s (TLC) 23rd Annual Golf Tournament held to raise money for the TLC Scholarship Fund yesterday, I’m in my Savannah Office today and I have a live virtual Newsmax interview to discuss the infrastructure package being proposed by President Biden.  A link to my interview can be found here.  After a meeting with a constituent representing the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Young Professional (YoPro) Council Advocacy working group who shares with me the great work they are doing in the aviation field, I join in on our all staff conference call.

Rep. Carter visits the mass vaccination site at the Savannah Civic Center
Next, I head to the Savannah Civic Center where I tour the new mass vaccination site that has been set up thanks to the help of the City of Savannah, Gulfstream Aerospace, Hospice Savannah and Savannah Technical College.  After touring the site, I take part in a press conference along with Savannah Mayor Van Johnson and other business partners.  Afterwards, I head to Thunderbolt in Chatham County where I meet with members of the Georgia Marine Business Association (GAMBA) to discuss waterway issues and priorities.  Once back in our Savannah Office, I have a virtual call with the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and their local representatives where we discuss issues about policy related to business and entrepreneurship.  My final call of the day is a White House briefing on migration and the border which turns out to be nothing more than the Biden Administration trying to cover up the current disaster at our southern border.

Thursday, April 1, 2021:  I’m on the road and in Darien in McIntosh County today as I meet with the new chamber executive for the area’s Chamber of Commerce, Alex Smetana.  Originally from this area, Alex has been gone for a while and is excited to be back heading up the COC, bringing with her much enthusiasm and great ideas.  After a great meeting, I keep heading south to St. Simons Island in Glynn County where I meet with representatives from the International Auto Logistics leadership team as they bring me up to date on their work and the situation with the Brunswick Harbor.

Rep. Buddy Carter visits Shane's Crib Discipleship and Recovery Center
Next, I head to Jesup in Wayne County where I tour Shane’s Crib Discipleship and Recovery Center to learn of the great work being done here with recovery for impaired women.  This faith-based program is a great asset for the community and has saved lives through their great outreach.  Not only do they help women with drug addiction, they also help them overcome their past obstacles, develop improved relationships and develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  Once I’m back in the truck and headed home, two major news stories break, one of a vehicle crashing into a security gate at the Capitol in Washington and the other of Major League Baseball (MLB) moving the All-Star game from Georgia as a result of the Election Integrity Act passed by the Georgia General Assembly.  As a result, I have a series of phone interviews with all of the major networks covering our District.  A few of the interviews can be found here, here, here and here.
