This year, I’m taking my safety on the rocks – or, in other words, with ICE.
Under President Trump, our streets are undeniably safer. Finally, our laws are being enforced the way they should have been under Biden-Harris. Our border is CLOSED, criminals are facing JUSTICE, and law enforcement agents at all levels are empowered to go after the worst of the worst individuals in this country.
Given my background as a pharmacist, I believe one of President Trump’s biggest accomplishments, and the one I am most grateful for this year, is that his successful border security policies are addressing the fentanyl crisis in our nation, helping keep deadly illicit drugs out of our communities and the hands of unsuspecting children.
Turns out, all we needed was a new president to start standing up for American families to disrupt the flow of this deadly poison into the country. There is more work to do, but I am encouraged that it is getting done under this administration.
The same can be said about our cities’ security as a whole – we are far better off under President Trump than we were under the previous administration, but there is significant progress left to be made if we want to fully undo the harm caused by Biden-Harris and supported by Jon Ossoff.
We recently learned that Georgia is home to nearly 500,000 illegal immigrants, giving us the 6th highest rate of illegal immigration in the nation. That is unacceptable, and it is threatening not just public safety, but the rule of law.
We’ve seen the consequences of this first-hand. We all remember Laken Riley, the University of Georgia (UGA) student who was mercilessly murdered by an illegal immigrant. You may be less familiar with the story of Salvador Rodriguez-Mendoza, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico with an active arrest warrant for murder and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, who just last week was arrested by the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office.
Let’s not forget the mother of five children, who earlier this year was brutally murdered by a criminal illegal alien from Honduras.
These victims’ lives mattered; they deserved to spend this week celebrating Thanksgiving with their families, but instead, they were taken away by individuals who should never have been here in the first place. It’s deplorable, and something must be done about it.
That’s why I sent a letter to the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) last week, urging them to send additional resources to the City of Atlanta for the purposes of addressing our state’s illegal immigration problem. We’ve seen the success of ICE operations in cities like Charlotte; now, it’s time the Peach State saw that same level of enforcement.
Every single person who is here illegally has broken the law and must be treated accordingly; anything less invites a culture of not just mass illegal immigration, but mass crime. Georgians deserve to feel safe in our homes, streets, and cities; with the help of ICE and under President Trump’s leadership, we will get closer to that goal every single day.
