Monday, February 23, 2026: On Saturday, I was in Nashville, TN, where I was attending the Safari Club International (SCI) annual convention. SCI is the leader in defending the freedom to hunt and promoting sustainable-use wildlife conservation worldwide. I began Saturday with a meeting with SCI members from Georgia who were attending the conference. Afterwards, I had a live interview with Fox News as we discussed the recent Supreme Court of the U.S. (SCOTUS) ruling that struck down the sweeping tariffs that President Donald Trump imposed in a series of executive orders. Next, I head to the airport where I flew to Atlanta and got back in time to attend the Catholic Charities Atlanta Soiree held at the Georgia Aquarium. Yesterday, I attended The Church at Liberty Square in Cartersville in Bartow County where Lead Pastor Travis Rutland provided a most relevant message regarding faith and courage. The Church at Liberty Square has one of the largest congregations in the area and its vision is to equip and mobilize believers to transform Bartow and Beyond for Jesus Christ. Because of the inclement weather in Washington and the uncertainty with flights, I stayed in Atlanta last night since the chances of getting a flight back to Washington were much better. I’m up early this morning and travel to the Fox Studios in Atlanta where I’m live on Fox Business’ Mornings with Maria as we discuss tariffs, immigration and funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Because of the inclement weather, scheduled votes for tonight have been canceled and I spend most of the day in Atlanta catching up on work and phone calls. Later in the afternoon, I host a tele-townhall where I welcome my special guest, Scott Presler, an American conservative activist who is promoting the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act that requires voters to provide documentary proof of citizenship at the time of registration and a photo ID at the time of voting. Afterwards, I head to the Atlanta airport as I have finally been able to secure a late-night flight to Washington.

Tuesday, February 24, 2026: Today is a big day on Capitol Hill as we welcome President Donald J. Trump tonight as he delivers his State of the Union (SOTU) address. My day starts with our weekly GOP Conference meeting which is held off Capitol Hill this week. Once back at the Capitol, I have a pre-taped interview with WSB-TV in Atlanta to discuss what I expect and hope the President will address in his SOTU speech tonight. Afterwards, I head to an Energy and Commerce (E&C) Environment Subcommittee hearing on safe, reliable and affordable drinking water. Once back in our office, I have a virtual call with representatives from the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) to discuss issues impacting their practice before welcoming the family of Sam Lilley to our office and escorting them to the House Chamber. Sam Lilley was a 28-year-old American Airlines pilot from Richmond Hill, GA, who was tragically killed in an aircraft collision near Reagan National Airport in January of 2025. Sam’s family and other victims’ family members are in Washington today for the vote on the ROTOR Act that addresses some of the issues surrounding the horrific tragedy. After getting them situated in the House Gallery, I return to our office, where I meet with our communications team before meeting with the CEO of Silver Birch, a company providing affordable assisted living homes throughout the country. After meeting with representatives from the Boys and Girls Club of America, I return to the House Chamber for our first vote series of the day and immediately afterwards join my good friend Scott Jennings on his radio show to discuss news of the day including tonight’s SOTU address. Next, I head to the Cannon Caucus Room where various media outlets are holding a SOTU media row and I have five different interviews with various media outlets. After attending a Republican Study Committee (RSC) press conference with angel families -families who have lost loved ones who were the victims of crimes committed by illegal immigrants- I head back to the House Chamber for our second vote series of the day. Next, I join in on our all staff conference call before meeting with our legislative team and then welcome my very special SOTU guest, conservative grassroots activist Betsy Kramer from Atlanta. I am delighted to have Betsy join me tonight and after we join a pre SOTU reception in the Speakers office, we head to the House Chamber where we both enjoy the longest SOTU address ever, a 1 hour, 48-minute outstanding speech delivered by President Donald J. Trump. Afterwards, I have numerous interviews with different media outlets before ending a very memorable day.

Wednesday, February 25, 2026: After a long and exhausting day yesterday, I’m off Capitol Hill and downtown where I join Bloomberg for a Government Policy forum and we discuss news of the day. Once back on Capitol Hill, I head to an E&C member meeting before heading to our office for a meeting with my good friends from Tybee Island to discuss beach renourishment. After our final vote series of the week, I pay tribute to Lt. Gen. Tom Carden from Georgia who has been confirmed to serve as the 12th vice chief of the National Guard Bureau. After heading off Capitol Hill for a meeting with a compounding pharmacy group, I head back to our office where I have a series of meetings including with the CEO of DisposeRX, the CEO of Neurocrine Biosciences, and a student from Georgetown University interested in politics. Afterwards, I head to the airport for my flight home and once back in the District, I stop by our Brunswick office to tape this week’s edition of Buddy’s Briefing.

Thursday, February 26, 2026: Without question, one of my favorite parts of this position that I have the honor and privilege of holding is speaking to students. Today, after meeting with school administration personnel, I am honored to address the first-year students at South University School of Pharmacy in Savannah and bring them up to date on pharmacy issues and stress the importance of advocacy. Afterwards, I head to Jonesboro in Clayton County and, during the drive, I have a phone conference with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Administrator Dr. Mark Makary as he brings me up to date on the great progress they are making at the FDA. Once in Jonesboro, I have the honor of speaking to the Clayton County GOP at their monthly meeting.

Friday, February 27, 2026: I’m back in Atlanta this morning. I head to the Fox Studios in midtown, where I tape a segment for Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street program on Fox Business that is aired on Sunday mornings. Later in the morning, I head to Norcross in Gwinnett County, northeast of metro Atlanta, where I visit Milacron, a manufacturing and distribution leader of molding and extrusion solutions for the plastics processing market. Afterwards, I have a podcast interview on Salem News Channel with Alex Marlow as we discuss news of the day before hitting the road again and heading back to Savannah. During the drive, I have a phone conference with our Chief of Staff and District Director. Once back in Savannah, I head to the Armstrong Campus of Georgia Southern University, where I am joined by Jason Hoelshcer with the Betty Fox Sanders Department of Art as we announce the winners of this year’s Congressional Art Competition. Afterwards, I hit the road again and travel to Augusta in Richmond County.
