I introduced legislation this week to allow localities to seek damages from Major League Baseball (MLB) for lost revenue following MLB's pathetic political decision to move the 2021 All-Star Game out of Georgia.
Cobb County Travel and Tourism estimated the state could suffer an economic loss of over $100 million due to MLB's spineless decision based on lies. Following a global pandemic, MLB decided to rip millions of dollars away from Georgia after localities, hotels, restaurants, transportation companies and other small businesses who barely survived over the last year were already preparing for the game. My legislation provides localities with a legal recourse to recoup the lost costs for their communities.
I spoke with Fox News about my bill to hold MLB accountable.
Also this week, I helped introduce legislation to remove the longstanding antitrust exemption that Major League Baseball has enjoyed. The other professional sports leagues do not have the same exemption, and it would be irresponsible to continue to provide this special treatment to MLB as they cause irreparable damage to hardworking Georgians and small businesses.
We discuss this and more in this episode of Buddy's Briefing.

BORN-ALIVE ABORTION SURVIVORS PROTECTION ACT |
|
I signed a petition this week to force a vote on the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. The legislation mandates that any infant born alive after an abortion receives the same standard of care as any newborn baby.
Protecting precious newborn babies should not be a partisan issue. This is something we should all be able to agree on. However, if the Democrats won't bring this bill to the floor to ensure all infants receive the same medical treatment, I'm proud to sign a petition to force a vote.
Congress must stand together to end the horrific practice of murdering babies following failed abortions. |
