Wednesday, November 10, 2021: On Monday I had a virtual call with representatives from Mitsubishi-Hitachi to discuss supply chain issues that have plagued businesses of all sizes in our area and across our nation. Yesterday, I had an interview with WTOC-TV in Savannah to discuss the passing of former Georgia U.S. Senator and Veteran Affairs Secretary Max Cleland. A link to my comments can be found here. I’m back in the District this morning and my first meeting is with hotelier Richard Kessler at the beautiful Plant Riverside District in Savannah, one of the nicest developments we’ve ever seen in our area. With incredible dining experiences, high-end shopping, live music, and more, the Plant Riverside District is an awesome experience. Afterwards, I have a live interview with Newsmax to discuss Washington Democrats’ infrastructure gimmicks, objections to a billionaire tax and inflation. A link to my interview can be found here. Next, I head to the Perry Lane Hotel in downtown Savannah where I speak at the Georgia Chamber of Commerce Fall Government Affairs Council meeting.

After bringing them up to date on issues in Washington, I head to Richmond Hill in Bryan County where I visit Thrive Early Leaning Center, a facility offering high-quality early learning. As the parents of two children, owners Rob and Krystle Steinhoff recognized the need for quality daycare and co-founded the center. Their passion for the center and the students it serves reverberates through the great staff and teachers they have assembled. After a great visit, I head to Memorial Day School in Savannah where I speak to the 5th grade history class taught by Dale Mock.
Speaking to students is one of my favorite parts of this position and this group of engaging and intuitive young people is a great experience. Next, I head to our Savannah district office where I have a meeting with a constituent, Dan Brunner, who is an MIT graduate and Chief Technology Officer of Commonwealth Fusion Systems. I had learned about Dan being in our area from a mutual friend, Dick Berkowitz, and wanted to know more about his company’s work in fusion energy. As a member of the Select Committee on Climate Change, we have been discussing fusion as a source of energy in the future. After a great and educational meeting, I head to the studios of WTOC-TV in Savannah where I have an interview on raising alarms about deadly counterfeit pills. A link to my interview can be found here. Once back in our Savannah district office, I have a great meeting with members of the Lazaretto Coalition to discuss plans for a Tybee Island historical site.
This would be a site of great importance to Georgia and the nation as Emory University has data of slave ships that landed at the Lazaretto site with human cargo. Afterwards, I head to Skidaway Island where I am the guest speaker at the Skidaway Island Republican Club’s True Perspectives series.
Thursday, November 11, 2021: While today is Veterans Day, in reality, every day is Veterans Day. I’m up early and headed to Jesup in Wayne County where I am honored to be the keynote speaker for the Veteran Memorial Groundbreaking Ceremony.
Located on land donated by Wayne Memorial Hospital, the Veteran Memorial committee has been raising money for this most worthwhile project for several years. After a great ceremony, I head to Valdosta in Lowndes County where I join the Daughters of the Revolution and other groups at the Crescent as they present to the public a new memorial, the “Never Forgotten Garden.”
After a great ceremony that included an emotional presentation of the Missing Man Table, the memorial that includes engraved bricks for veterans both living and those who have passed, was dedicated. Next, I head across the street to the Valdosta State University Continuing Education building where I have an on-camera interview with NTD Capitol Report on the Vaccine Mandate. A link to my interview can be found here. Afterwards, I head to the Lowndes County Courthouse in downtown Valdosta where I film this week’s edition of Buddy’s Briefings. Later, I have the honor of being the guest speaker at the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) South Georgia Chapter meeting. MOAA is the nation’s largest and most influential association of military officers.
Friday, November 12, 2021: After a few hours of sleep last night, I’m up early and at our Band of Brothers meeting in Garden City this morning. Afterwards, I head to downtown Savannah where I have a great meeting with John Knox Porter, CEO of Capital Development Partners, the largest industrial developer in Savannah. Once back in our Savannah District office, I have a live interview on Newsmax to discuss inflation and the Democrats infrastructure gimmicks. A link to my comments can be found here. After a meeting in downtown Savannah with a group of businessmen, I head to Clyo in Effingham County where I am honored to speak to and, more importantly, hear from a group of Christian businessmen as we discuss issues impacting our country. Next, I head to the Elks Lodge in Southside Savannah where I attend the Veterans Day banquet sponsored by the Veterans Council of Chatham County.
During the event, I am honored to present American flags flown over the United States Capitol in honor of Soldier of the Year, SPC Gavin Currey, NCO of the Year, SGT Hunter Davidson, Parade Grand Marshal, Jimmy Grismer and sponsor and supporter Step One Automotive Group.
Saturday, November 13, 2021: It’s been a great Veteran’s week and this morning I attend my final event at Daffin Park in Savannah at the Armistice Day WWI Memorial.
This morning’s event features a great presentation by Veteran Doug Andrews regarding the 100th Anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Afterwards, I head to the Savannah Convention Center where I meet with attendees of the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) at their annual convention. Later in the afternoon, I head to the Bryan County GOP honoring our Veterans at 17 South Gun Club.
