Monday, April 6, 2026: It was a special treat on Saturday to attend the Wings Over North Georgia Air Show in Rome in Floyd County held at the Richard B. Russell Regional Airport. Featuring Military and civilian flight demonstrations, static aircraft displays, plenty of food and lots of activities, this well-attended event was originally launched in the early 2010’s and has grown into one of the premier airshows in the Southeast. In fact, it has earned recognition as a top fan-favorite airshow in the United States. This signature event for Northwest Georgia had as their main draw this year the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, and they certainly didn’t disappoint. The event is organized by Wings Over North Georgia LLC, as they work in partnership with local government, the airport authority, military units and private sponsors to create a fantastic event that is nationally recognized. Afterwards, I flew back home to St. Simons Island where I was able to attend Easter service at my home church of Wesley Church at Frederica on the island. Amy and I have truly been blessed. I grew up in Port Wentworth United Methodist Church in West Chatham County near Savannah and Amy grew up in Trinity United Methodist Church in Waycross. We met at Young Harris College; a school affiliated with the Methodist Church and located in the North Georgia mountains. When we moved to Pooler in 1980 after I graduated from the College of Pharmacy at the University of Georgia, we joined Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church in downtown Savannah where we raised our three sons, and I taught Sunday School for over 30 years. We also made some of our dearest friends during that time. When we moved to St. Simons Island in September of 2024 to be closer to Amy’s mother in Waycross, God blessed us again by leading us to Wesley Church at Frederica, where we have developed more friendships particularly within our Sunday School Class, the Agape Class. I am truly blessed to have many faithful people who influence me in my life, and while I am thankful for all of them, I am particularly thankful for our Senior Pastor at Wesley, Lucas Rameriz, our leader at Band of Brothers, Kenny Grant, and Joe Fowler with Common Thread Ministries who visits me in Washington. These three faithful followers of Christ pray for me together each week on Mondays and, like many of you who pray for me, I feel those prayers and am encouraged by them. After a great Easter service with outstanding music from talented musicians and yet another superb message from Lucas, Amy and I headed to the airport and flew to Washington where we were joined by our youngest son and his family and this morning we head to the White House for the annual Easter Egg Roll held on the South Lawn. This timeless tradition was established in 1878 during the presidency of Rutherford B. Hayes and this year is hosted by President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump and coincides with America’s 250th birthday with patriotic themes, over 30,000 eggs and 150 live chicks. Afterwards, I fly back to Atlanta and later in the evening I am honored to speak to the Loose Group and the Right Group in Atlanta. These two groups are comprised of business leaders and their families and support conservative and Republican candidates for federal office.

Tuesday, April 7, 2026: I’m in Cumming in Forsyth County north of the metro Atlanta area this morning where I attend the Lanier-Forsyth Rotary Club weekly meeting. With members from Forsyth, Norwest Gwinnett County and Cumming, this great club hosts the annual Forsyth Down & Derby event in conjunction with the running of the Kentucky Derby. Afterwards, I meet with representatives from a specialized strategy and technology firm to learn more about their business before heading to Dunwoody in DeKalb County where I visit Eclipse Networks, a small business that provides managed IT, cybersecurity and data center services. With an in-house data center, they focus on helping organizations stay secure, resilient, and well-supported. After a great visit, I head to Duluth in Gwinnett County northeast of metro Atlanta where I attend the Gwinnett Rotary Club at their weekly meeting and afterwards meet with members of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce for a roundtable discussion of federal issues. Next, I head to Trilith Studios in Fayetteville in Fayette County south of metro Atlanta and during the drive, I join in on our all staff conference call. Trilith Studios is a large film and entertainment complex known for hosting major productions, including Marvel films. Complete with residential, retail and dining areas, the ‘Town at Trilith” development has state of the art soundstages, production support facilities and live entertainment venues. It is truly amazing. My final stop of a very busy day is in McDonough in Henry County, southeast of metro Atlanta, where I have the honor of speaking to the Henry County GOP at their monthly meeting. This is the second time I’ve had the opportunity to address this great group of patriots.
