secure elections will save america

This week, President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive Order to strengthen election integrity by ordering citizenship verification for Federal elections and modernizing and securing mail-in and absentee ballot procedures through the United States Postal Service (USPS).

The right to vote is the cornerstone of our democracy, a right that countless American servicemembers gave their life for. This is another huge step taken by the Trump administration to ensure your vote counts and is not diluted by illegal ballots. Let’s make this clear: one single illegal vote is voter suppression.

Voters deserve elections they can trust, and that confidence is being restored thanks to President Trump, and he is following through on his promise to secure our elections.

In 2024, President Trump vowed: “We will secure our elections, and they will be secure once and for all.”

Unlike the Biden Administration, which pursued its political agenda instead of fair elections, President Trump is putting the American people back in charge.

President Trump is taking decisive action to prevent non-citizens from voting in Federal elections and to protect the security of mail-in and absentee ballots. The right to vote in Federal elections is reserved exclusively for United States citizens under the Constitution and Federal law.

Existing federal law explicitly prohibits non-citizens from registering to vote or casting ballots in Federal elections, yet lax verification and self-certification loopholes in some States have left gaps that undermine public confidence in election outcomes.

The Federal government has a duty to prevent violations of Federal criminal law in Federal elections and to maintain public confidence in the integrity of election outcomes. It’s time for Congress to codify this action and pass the SAVE America Act, a straightforward, commonsense bill to ensure that only American citizens cast ballots.

BUDDY'S BRIEFING

On this week's edition of Buddy's Briefing, we discuss the Artemis II mission and America’s renewed leadership in space.

FROM OUR NATION'S CaPITOL

Monday, March 30, 2026: Yesterday, I had the pleasure of worshiping at Elijay First Baptist Church in Gilmer County in Northeast Georgia near where I went to school at Young Harris College. Elijay First is a historic Baptist congregation that first opened its doors in 1875 when it was known as “The Baptist Church at Elijay” and adopted a traditional Baptist doctrinal statement called the Abstract of Principles. I enjoyed joining the early and second worship services and Sunday School in between. Known as part of the historic homeland of the Cherokee people, Native Americans from this area were forcibly displaced to Oklahoma in 1838 as a result of the US government’s policy of ethnic cleansing. Elijay derives its’ name from the Cherokee name Elatseyi, meaning “new ground.” Founded in 1832, Gilmer County was organized by territory cut from Cherokee County. Later in the day, I had a Fox News interview to discuss funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the conflict in Iran. Afterwards, I headed to Sandy Springs in northern Fulton County where I attended the Republican Jewish Committee Senate interviews. Sandy Springs is the 7th most populated city in the state and is named for the natural spring in the area. Fulton County is the State’s most populous county and is where about 90% of the City of Atlanta is located. I’m in the Fox News studios in Atlanta this morning as I’m live on Fox Business with Maria Bartiromo on Mornings with Maria as we discuss DHS funding and a possible reconciliation appropriations bill. Later in the morning, I travel to the Morgan Falls Dam and Hydroelectric Plant located on the Chattahoochee River in northern metro Atlanta and run by Georgia Power for a tour of this plant built in 1904. Today, the plant continues to regulate river flow, generate renewable energy and forms Bull Sluice Lake upstream. Afterwards, I head to downtown Atlanta to the Rotary Club of Atlanta where I attend their weekly meeting. Known as one of the most influential business and civic clubs in the world, the Rotary Club of Atlanta was established in 1913. Later in the afternoon, I have a live interview on Newsmax where we discuss DHS funding and the conflict in Iran. Afterwards, I head to midtown Atlanta where I join members of the Georgia GOP for an event.

Tuesday, March 31, 2026: I’m in Smyrna in Cobb County in the northwest portion of Metro Atlanta as I meet this morning with the Fire Chief and Director of Emergency Services, Brian Marcos. A decorated fireman, Chief Marcos has headed the Department since 2022 and was named Chief Fire Officer of the Year in 2020 by the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs. After a tour of Fire Station #1, I join in on our all staff conference call and head to Canton in Cherokee County north of metro Atlanta where I attend the weekly meeting of the Canton Rotary Club. While there, I am reminded of how small the world is as I meet someone that I didn’t know but who grew up in Garden City in West Chatham County where I grew up and whose Dad worked with my Dad at Union Bag Paper mill years ago. Next, I head to the airport where I fly to Brunswick and, once back on St. Simons Island, I meet with a local attorney and his clients to discuss an immigration situation. Later in the evening, I join Stacey on the Right on Sirius XM for a radio interview where we discuss DHS funding, reconciliation and the Iran conflict.

Wednesday, April 1, 2026: I’m up early and live on Newsmax this morning as we discuss the ongoing DHS funding issue and conflict in Iran before heading to beautiful Tybee Island in Chatham County where I join Mayor Brian West, City Manager Brett Bell, Fire Chief Justin McMillian and other city officials as we announce that the City has received a $5 million federal grant to help build a new fire station and replace the 100 year old current station. Next, I head to Wilmington Island where I join the Chatham Republican Women at their monthly meeting and have the opportunity to address the group before heading to the Savannah airport for my return trip to Atlanta. Once in Atlanta, I head to Brookhaven in DeKalb County in metro Atlanta where I meet with a group from the area.

Rep. Carter speaks at Tybee Island Fire Station

Thursday, April 2, 2026: I’m in Braselton, northeast of metro Atlanta, this morning as I have the honor of speaking to the Braselton Rotary Club at their weekly meeting. Interestingly, Braselton is located in Jackson, Barrow, Gwinnett and Hall Counties, was incorporated in 1916, and is named after Harrison Braselton, a poor dirt farmer who married Susan Hosch, the daughter of a rich plantation owner. Afterwards, I head to Boise Cascade Lumber in Auburn for a visit and tour of this major American manufacturer and distributor of wood products. Next, I head to Elberton in Elbert County where I meet with a group of granite miners and manufacturers to discuss tariffs on foreign goods, including granite, being sent to the U.S. Known as the “Granite Capital of the World,” Elberton’s economy is heavily dependent on granite mining and manufacturing. Increasingly, China is skirting tariffs intended to level the marketplace by sending products through countries such as Cambodia and Vietnam. Afterwards, I have a tour of Elbert Memorial Hospital, yet another example of one of our great rural hospitals in the State of Georgia that is facing increasing pressures for survival. Next, I head back to Canton in Cherokee County where the local GOP is holding a Republican Senatorial Candidate forum.

Rep. Carter joins Newsmax to discuss developments with funding for DHS

Friday, April 3, 2026: I’m back live on Newsmax this morning as I discuss the latest developments with funding for DHS and the possibility of a reconciliation funding package. Afterwards, I join One America News (OAN) for an extended interview on DHS funding, the Iran conflict and other news of the day before filming this week’s edition of Buddy’s Briefing and a couple of videos. After a conference call with our Chief of Staff and District Director, I head to Zebulon in Pike County south of Atlanta where I join the Pike County Chamber of Commerce (COC) for a networking luncheon. Next, I meet with a local County Commissioner before heading to a meeting with one of the many successful businesses in the area. After paying a visit to Pastor Billy Smith at Christ Chapel Community Church, a multi-campus Christian Church based in Zebulon, I head to Flovilla in Butts County where we attend Food Fest Friday, complete with carnival style events and food trucks.

DID YOU KNOW?

Tybee Island’s name comes from the Native American word “Euchee,” meaning “salt,” reflecting the island’s deep coastal roots long before it became one of Georgia’s favorite beach destinations.
