Dr. Joe Biden?

Look out Jill Biden, there’s another doctor in town – at least, someone who thinks they’re qualified to make other people’s medical decisions.

Joe Biden released his unconstitutional vaccine mandate this week, despite campaigning on the promise that vaccines will never be mandatory.

Right out of the Washington Democrat playbook, he is throwing the peoples’ will to the wind and moving America one step closer to full-blown socialism.

Unlike Sleepy Joe, I do have medical training. I understand the importance of the doctor-patient relationship and trust those individuals to work together with their families and medical professionals to make the health care decisions that works best for them.

Washington Democrats think they know better than patients, parents, and health care professionals.

As if threatening our right to privacy was not enough, this mandate is also threatening to escalate and exacerbate Biden’s supply chain crisis and worker shortages.

Workers in the same industries that got us through the worst of the pandemic are now having their careers ripped away from them because the President wants to be the judge, jury, and executioner of our private and personal medical decisions.

As I’ve traveled across Georgia’s great First District, I’ve met with manufacturers, nurses, grocery store clerks, and others who love their jobs but don’t want the government making medical decisions for them.  I get it, and I hear you.

The left wants us to believe that you cannot be pro-vaccine and anti-vaccine mandate. I am living proof that this is patently false. I participated in the vaccine trials because I studied the facts, spoke to my family, and trust the process.  I also wanted to bolster President Trump’s Operation Warp Speed which is the only reason we have three vaccines available today.

But my choice should not be the only choice.

The unfortunate truth is Joe Biden and Kamala Harris first injected politics into the vaccine discussion on the campaign trail because they refused to give President Trump credit for delivering the vaccine.  Now they want to point fingers elsewhere as people question whether the vaccine is right for them and their health.

But Democrats don’t care, because these mandates are not about public health. They’re about control. Control over our health, our schools, our businesses, and our livelihoods.

I won’t stand for it and, just like we saw in Virginia’s gubernatorial election on Tuesday, the American people won’t either.

FROM OUR NATION'S CAPITOL CCCXXXVI

Monday, November 1, 2021: After flying back to Washington this morning, I’m on Capitol Hill and join in on our all-staff conference call before having a virtual call with Encompass Health, a company that provides care to patients recovering from stroke, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries and other conditions. Encompass Health is the largest provider of inpatient rehabilitation services in the United States and has a rehabilitation hospital in Savannah. Next, I record a video for the Marshes of Glynn Libraries 1,000 books before kindergarten initiative, a program designed to encourage parents and caregivers to read to their young children before they start kindergarten. Afterwards, I have a meeting with my college roommate and good friend, Dr. Bob Warnock, from Watkinsville, who is serving this year as President of Senior Care Pharmacy Coalition (SCPC), the national organization representing long-term care pharmacies. Next, I head to our weekly Whip team meeting before heading to the House Chamber for our first vote series of the week. After votes, I remain in the Chamber where I pay tribute to the Young Harris College Soccer team who won the Sun Belt Conference title this year. A link to my tribute can be found here.

Senior Care Pharmacy Coalition Presentation

Tuesday, November 2, 2021: After our weekly GOP conference where we discuss the latest changes that the Democrats have made to their $3.5 trillion tax and spend socialist infrastructure bill, I head back to my office where I join in on a virtual call with former Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator Seema Verma as we discuss Medicaid policies in the most recently released reconciliation bill. Next, I head to the House Chamber where I pay tribute to Deborah Garcia and Bess Brunson, both from the First District who have been included in Georgia Trend magazine’s 40 under 40 group, O.C. Fowler, who has been honored as Chatham County Veteran of the year, and Charlie Waldrop, one of my Pharmacy mentors who passed recently at the age of 102. A link to my tributes can be found here, here, here, and here, respectively. Once back in my office, I have an interview with A Starting Point (ASP) to discuss the Sunshine Protection Act that I have co-sponsored that will make daylight savings time permanent. A link to my interview can be found here. ASP is a nonpartisan civic media organization founded by actors Chris Evans and Mark Kassen. After recording another video with my good friend, Rep. Jerry Carl (R-AL), regarding drug pricing provisions included in the Democrats $3.5 trillion tax and spend socialist infrastructure bill, I head off of Capitol Hill where I accept the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC) American PATRIOT Award for my support of their issues.  Once back in my office on Capitol Hill, I have a virtual call with the Values Action Team (VAT) to discuss a number of issues before heading to the House Chamber where we have a vote series of 12 votes that lasts over 4 hours. Afterwards, I head off of Capitol Hill where I speak to the National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) before speaking to members of the Alliance for Pharmacy Compounding who are in town this week.

AMAC American Patriot Award

Wednesday, November 3, 2021: I’m up early and off of Capitol Hill as I speak to the Senior Care Pharmacy Coalition (SCPC) at their fly in this week.  Once back on Capitol Hill, I head to an Energy and Commerce (E&C) Communications and Technology (C&T) mark up on two bipartisan bills. Next, I have a meeting with the CEO of EarthxTV, an international nonprofit environmental organization dedicated to educating and inspiring people to take action towards a more sustainable future worldwide.  After a meeting of the Select Committee on Climate Change where we have a discussion with members of the European Parliament’s Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE), I head to the House Chamber where I pay tribute to the 2021 World Series Champion Atlanta Braves. A link to my tribute can be found here. Next, I head to a meeting of the conservative Republican Study Committee (RSC) before heading back to my office for a meeting with the National Grocers Association followed by a virtual call with Pfizer’s Global President for Vaccines, Nanette Cicero, who provides me with an update on the COVID-19 vaccine. After a vote series in the House Chamber, I head to a meeting with Georgia Electric Membership Corporation (EMC) and National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) representatives before calling it a day.

Braves Floor Speech

Thursday, November 4, 2021: My day begins with a Doctor’s Caucus virtual meeting where we hear from John Crowley, CEO of Amicus Therapeutics, as he discusses the devastating harm that he believes the Democrats drug pricing proposals in the $3.5 trillion tax and spend socialist infrastructure bill will have on research and development in pharmaceuticals. After a meeting off Capitol Hill, I head to a GOP meeting for an update on the latest changes made to the Democrats $3.5 trillion tax and spend socialist infrastructure bill before heading to an E&C Health Subcommittee markup where I speak on the proposed Disproportionate Share Hospital (DHS) cuts to states that did not expand Medicaid as well as on legislation that I have sponsored.  A link to my comments can be found here and here. Next, I head to the House Chamber for what is expected to be a 5-vote series. After the 4th vote, the Speaker swears in two new members from Ohio and then decides to add another 6 votes to the series, meaning that we are in the House Chamber from 1:30 PM till 6:00 PM. Later in the evening, I have a live interview with Rob Schmitt with NewsMax to discuss the Vaccine Mandate and Dr. Anthony Fauci’s latest trip to Capitol Hill. A link to my interview can be found here.

Newsmax Interview

Friday, November 5, 2021: In what can only be described as an inauspicious start to the day, immediately after the House opens this morning at 8AM, a motion to adjourn is made and I run to Chamber to vote. As it turns out the Democrats keep the vote open for 7 hours, shattering the previous record on the length of time a vote has remained open. After voting, I head to the Department of Labor on Constitution Avenue where I film this week’s edition of Buddy’s Briefings. Next, I head to the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial where I film a video tribute for Veteran’s Day before returning to the Capitol where I join in on an E&C member meeting. Once back in my office, I have a meeting with Justin Hunter with Encompass Health before heading to the triangle in the plaza where I speak during a press conference objecting to President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate. A link to my comments can be found here. Afterwards, its “hurry up and wait” as I spend the afternoon working in my office while waiting to see what the Democrats will do next. Finally, at 3:15 PM the early morning vote is closed and debate begins on the Democrats $3.5 trillion tax and spend socialist infrastructure bill. After debate a vote is taken to stop further consideration of the bill and this one is left open for just under 5 hours before the process continues, and the next debate begins. During this break, I did a live interview with Chris Salcedo to discuss Biden’s unconstitutional vaccine mandate and $450K payouts to illegal immigrants. A link to my comments can be found here. Finally, the last 4 votes are taken beginning around 10:30 PM and ending in the early morning hours of Saturday, ending what has truly been a very tumultuous week. Unfortunately, the Democrats rammed the groundwork of their socialist wish-list through, and my comments about the vote can be found here.
