Faith and fear cannot exist together, for fear paralyzes faith.

Americans are losing faith in the institutions that have "preserved us a nation." Our system of governance, military, police officers, and Constitution – to name a few – are consistently under attack and under-appreciated.

We’ve watched as this President botched our withdrawal from Afghanistan, abused his power by enforcing unconstitutional vaccine mandates, and decimated our energy independence.

We’ve seen some bad police officers make life-altering mistakes. We’ve seen unlawful riots ravage the nation with those criminals not being held sufficiently or consistently responsible.

Critical race theory is spitting on the American legacy that all are created equal. It is burdening an entire generation with a positive few of socialism and a negative view of capitalism and democracy.

Some may view these horrific events as evidence that our institutions are not worth supporting. I vehemently disagree.

The left’s loss of faith in law enforcement led to a record year of crime in our major cities.

Biden’s loss of faith in our military led to the Taliban’s takeover.

Our youth’s loss of faith in capitalism is causing socialism’s popularity to spike.

America is in peril because we have lost faith in her. Washington Democrats want you to be fearful of freedom and democracy because they want to scare you into handing those same freedoms over to them.

And they do this by placing blame for your pain and suffering at the feet of Lady Liberty instead of where it truly belongs – at the feet of Biden, Pelosi, Schumer, and Harris.

Republicans are on a mission to restore faith in America. We defend the Constitution. We back the blue and thank them for keeping us and our children safe. We respect individuals’ freedoms and believe that government is best when it is limited. We support our Military Service members and staunchly defend our foreign allies.

We live by faith, not fear. I invite you to join us.

Monday, January 3, 2022: Having rung in a new year over the weekend, I’m back at it this morning as I join in on our all staff conference call and we catch up from the holidays. Our work doesn’t stop at the office during the holidays as we have handled many passport requests and other issues.

After working at the office, I head to the Downtown Rotary meeting in Savannah where we hear from former Savannah Mayor Otis Johnson regarding the results of a racial equity task force study that he chaired last year.

Once back in my office, I spend the afternoon catching up on phone calls and work before having a live interview on Fox Business to discuss the status of the Democrats’ Build Back Better proposal and other White House initiatives.

Later, I head to the great Town of Thunderbolt on the Wilmington River in Chatham County where I attend the inauguration of newly-elected Mayor Dana Williams and council members Brooks Barbaree, David Crenshaw, Edward Drohann III, Lawrence Ward, James Lavin, and Bethany Skipper.

Afterwards, I head to beautiful Tybee Island and the Tybee Post Theater for the inauguration of council members Brian West, Monty Parks and Michael “Spec” Hosti.

Tuesday, January 4, 2022: I’m live on Morning’s with Maria on Fox Business this morning to discuss vaccine mandates and the upcoming Supreme Court case challenging the authority of OSHA mandating vaccines.

Next, I head to America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia in Savannah as members of our district staff and I volunteer packing food boxes. America’s Second Harvest is a great organization trying to end hunger and making sure that those in need get nourishment. It is also a great way for individuals and, especially groups, to volunteer.

After joining in on a GOP member conference call with Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) where he brings us up to date on issues in our Conference, I head to Southside Savannah where I have the honor of being the guest speaker at the Southside Savannah Rotary Club and bring them up to date on issues in Washington.

Once back in our Savannah District office, I have a video interview with the Savannah Morning News to discuss my recollection of the events at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Afterwards, I head to one of the fastest growing cities in Georgia and the U.S., Richmond Hill in Bryan County, for the inauguration of Mayor Russ Carpenter and Councilmembers Robbie Ward and Kristi Cox. I have the honor of administering the oath of office to the Mayor and council members and in the case of my good friend, Mayor Carpenter, this is the fourth time I have administered the oath of office to him having done it twice as a Council member and twice as Mayor.

Later in the evening, I have a live radio interview with Stacy Washington on her show Stacy on the Right, where I discuss the upcoming midterm elections and the anticipated GOP agenda as well as other items.

Wednesday, January 5, 2022: After a late-night radio interview last night, I’m up at 4:00 a.m. this morning for a live television interview on Fox and Friends to discuss vaccine mandates and the upcoming Supreme Court hearing on President Biden’s unconstitutional vaccine mandates.

Also early this morning, my op-ed with Rep. Dan Newhouse discussing our Make Energy Affordable Act ran in the Washington Examiner. This bill will hold the Biden Administration accountable for their poor energy policies and bring down the cost of gas at the pump.

Later, I head to the Curtis V. Cooper Health Center in Savannah where I meet with district area Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) leaders to discuss their initiatives for the important services they provide.

Next, I head to the South of DeRenne Business Association (SODA) luncheon in Savannah where we hear from Scott Pierce with Coastal Care Partners about the great work being done in home health care in our area.

Afterwards, I head to Brunswick in Glynn County where I have a great visit at St. Marks Towers, a HUD-subsidized non-profit residential apartment community for low-income seniors, couples and disabled ages 62 and over. The two six story buildings have a total of 150 one-bedroom apartment homes and have a scenic view of the marshes of Glynn.

Next, I head down to Camden County where I have a site visit of the Plug Green Hydrogen Plant currently under construction. Once completed, the plant will produce 15 tons per day of liquid green hydrogen, produced using 100% renewable energy. The $84 million project will produce almost 40 jobs in the local community once completed.

After a great visit, I head back to Brunswick in Glynn County where I attend the

inauguration of Cosby Johnson as the 60th Mayor of Brunswick and Felicia Harris and Kendra Rolle as City Commissioners.

Thursday, January 6, 2022: I’m at the annual meeting this morning of the Savannah Economic Development Authority (SEDA) where we hear about yet another successful year the authority has had in a recap of the activities of 2021. The keynote speaker for the event is Vernice “FlyGirl” Armour, a former U.S. Marine Corps officer who was the first African American female aviator in the Marine Corps and America’s first black combat pilot in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Afterwards, I have a video interview with WTGS Fox 28 TV in Savannah to discuss the events at the U.S. Capitol on January 6th, 2021, as well as a phone interview with WSAV TV in Savannah to discuss the same event.

Next, I head to the Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport where I fly to Atlanta to attend the memorial service for one of my political mentors, Senator Johnny Isakson. The service is held at the Peachtree Road United Methodist Church and is attended by many of Sen. Isakson’s congressional colleagues. A true statesman, Johnny Isakson was the only Georgian to ever serve in the Georgia House of Representatives, Georgia State Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, and U.S. Senate. He was a giant in Georgia politics and someone all of us in public service strive to emulate.

Friday, January 7, 2022: It’s a pleasure this morning to join my good friend, John Fredericks, the Godzilla of Truth, on his radio show as we discuss vaccine mandates, foreign affairs and other issues of the day.

Bring Back Energy Independence

America was energy independent a year ago.

It's hard to believe, but it's true. Since President Joe Biden took office, gas prices nationwide have spiked 56%. Home heating costs will rise as much as 54% this winter.

Our president wants you to believe this is merely "transitory." But it's not. It's the direct intentional result of his energy policies.

Like a bull in a china shop, Biden used the first day of his presidency to demolish our energy independence one pen stroke at a time.

The nightmare has to end.

That is why we introduced the Make Energy Affordable Act...With this bill, Congress has the opportunity not only to hold Biden accountable for the disaster he's thrust onto people but also to take concrete steps to fix it.
