Monday, April 24th, 2023: I’m up and at ‘em this morning as I’m in Brunswick in Glynn County where I visit Live Oak Fiber to learn more about this impressive start up broadband internet service provider that is targeting the underserved areas in Glynn and Camden counties.
Afterwards, I head to our Brunswick District office where, in honor of National Crime Victim’s Rights week, I meet with Kristy Dyroff, a member of the Drug Induced Homicide Foundation and mother of a fentanyl poisoning victim, to discuss legislation I am introducing, the Recognizing Victims of Illicit Fentanyl Poisoning Act.
As part of my campaign to bring attention to this epidemic that is now killing over 200 Americans every day and is the leading cause of death among Americans aged 18-45, I have generated a push card that I am distributing promoting the lifesaving potential of Naloxone.
Next, I meet with Chief Rod Ellis of the Glynn County School System to give him the push cards and discuss the program. Afterwards, I head to the College of Coastal Georgia where I meet with Chief Bryan Sipe, President Michelle Johnston and other leadership to discuss the Naloxone program as well as the great progress being made at the school.
Next, I head back to Savannah where I meet with members of the Savannah Realtor team to discuss inventory, supply, affordable housing and fair housing before heading to our Savannah District office where I meet with Bob Houghton with the Georgia Association of Broadcasters to discuss keeping AM radio in electric vehicles.
After our all staff conference call, I have a call with a Tybee Island business owner to discuss this past weekend’s events on the Island.

Tuesday, April 25th, 2023: I’m up early this morning as I have a live interview on SquawkBox where I appear with my good friend and House colleague, Rep. Jake Auchincloss (D-MA), as we discuss the debt ceiling and the related Limit, Save and Grow (LSG) legislation that will be voted on this week.
Before heading to the airport for my return trip to Washington, I have a phone conference with representatives from Publix to discuss economic and pharmacy issues.
Once back on Capitol Hill, I have a scheduling meeting to review the upcoming week before having a legislative staff meeting to review the upcoming committee meetings and legislation this week.
Next, I meet with staff from the Energy and Commerce (E&C) Communications and Technology (C&T) Subcommittee to discuss Section 230 dealing with internet platforms and potential changes that could be made.
After a virtual interview with Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) to discuss the upcoming vote on the LSG legislation dealing with the debt ceiling, I head to the House Chamber where I speak on legislation I am sponsoring dealing with the Institute for Telecommunication Sciences (ITS) codification before heading to an E&C subcommittee Chair and Vice Chair meeting.
Next, I head off Capitol Hill for a meeting with the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) and afterwards return to the Capitol for our weekly Whip Team meeting followed by our first vote series of the week.
After votes, I remain in the House Chamber where I pay tribute to Glynn County Athletic Director Steve Waters, who has recently been recognized as 6-A State Athletic Director of the Year.

Wednesday, April 26th, 2023: After a meeting off Capitol Hill with representatives from Coherus Biosciences, I head to our weekly GOP Conference at the Capitol before heading to an E&C Health Subcommittee hearing on price transparency.
Afterwards, I head to the House Chamber where I pay tribute to the Camden County Wrestling team, Alzheimer’s Association, Kristy Griffis Arnold from Screven, and two Georgia Teacher of the Year finalists from our District.
Next, I head to an E&C Environment Subcommittee hearing on the Rush to Green Policies of the Biden Administration, before heading to a meeting with my good friend, Georgia Southern University President Kyle Marrero, who shares with me the great news coming from our regional university.
After our first vote series of the day, I remain in the House Chamber where I speak on the LSG Act of 2023, before heading back to my office where I meet with Georgia Insurance Commissioner John King.
Next, I head to the Capitol Visitors Center (CVC) for a member briefing on Artificial Intelligence with experts from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) before heading to our weekly C&T huddle where we discuss the upcoming week.
Afterwards, I head to the House Chamber for our second vote series of the week where we pass the LSG Act of 2023, sending the White House a clear message that we must rein in spending in our federal government.

Thursday, April 27th, 2023: I’m live on Fox and Friends this morning alongside Paris Hilton as we discuss the Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act that Paris is the primary advocate for and that I am the lead Republican sponsor of in the House. This bipartisan, bicameral legislation will reform the troubled teen institutional care system.
Afterwards, I escort Paris to our weekly Doctor’s Caucus meeting where we discuss this important legislation and the troubled system it addresses.
Next, I head to a GOP member policy conference where we discuss the proposed Farm Bill for this year before heading to a bipartisan E&C member conversation on price transparency.
Afterwards, I head to the House Chamber where I am honored to have been chosen as one of the members of the Escort Committee for the Joint Meeting address by His Excellency Yoon Suk Yeol, President of the Republic of Korea. After the address by His Excellency to the Joint Meeting of Congress, I attend a reception in honor of President Yeol in the Rayburn Room at the Capitol.
Next, I head to the Canon Caucus room where I speak at a luncheon celebrating the introduction of the Golda Meir Commemorative Coin Act and celebrating the 75th anniversary of the United States-Israel relationship.
Afterwards, I head to the Capitol Plaza outside the Senate for a press conference with Paris Hilton and my House and Senate co-sponsors of the Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act.
Once back in my office, I have meetings with the Georgia Independent Insurance Agents followed by the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) before having a phone interview with Fox 28 in Savannah to discuss Medicaid work requirements.
Next, I head to the House Chamber for our first and only vote series of the day and afterwards I remain in the Chamber and pay tribute to Bud Stack from Savannah who recently passed.

Friday, April 28th, 2023: After a radio interview with my good friend Scott Ryfun on StraightTalk in Brunswick, I head to an E&C member meeting before heading to an E&C Oversight and Investigations (O&I) hearing on Antimicrobial Resistance.
Next, I have a meeting with my good friend and House Colleague, Rep. Larry Bucshon (R-IN) to discuss the 340B drug program before heading to the House Chamber for our last vote of the week.
Afterwards, I remain in the House Chamber and pay tribute to Savannahian Jenny Gentry, who has been recognized with the 2023 Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia Legacy of Leadership Award.
Once back in my office, I have a scheduling meeting to review next week’s activities before having a legislative staff meeting to prepare for next week.
After recording this week’s edition of Buddy’s Briefing in my office, I head to the airport for my return trip home and, during the layover in Charlotte, I have a conference call with Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Rep. Diana Harshbarger (R-TN) and Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IW) to discuss Senate legislation dealing with Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs).
