ICYMI: Inflation freezes at unsustainably high level

The October Consumer Price Index (CPI) numbers released Tuesday showed that the sky-high inflation that has defined President Biden’s administration is still hurting consumers. It’s nearly double the rate of inflation that President Biden inherited when he took office, and the American people are paying $709 more for the same goods they could purchase just two years ago. In Case You Missed It, Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (R-GA) went on Fox Business to break down how inflation is hurting hardworking Americans, including South Georgians, and how the current federal government spending battle cou... ICYMI: Why the establishment is TERRIFIED of FairTax

HENDERSONVILLE, TN - Rep. Earl L. "Buddy" Carter (R-GA) last week sat down with former Governor of Arkansas Mike Huckabee, host of The Mike Huckabee Show on TBN, to discuss H.R. 25, the FairTax, which will eliminate the IRS and federal payroll and income taxes in favor of a simple, efficient consumption tax. This will allow Americans to keep the entirety of their hard-earned paychecks. Rep. Carter is the lead sponsor of this landmark and Georgia-grown legislation. In case you missed it, here are the highlights: ON GOVERNMENT WANTING CONTROL OVER YOUR PAYCHECKS: HUCKABEE: "[The FairTax is] not ... Read More »

Myth v. Fact: The FairTax Act

MYTH: The FairTax rate is really 30 percent not 23 percent. Our current income tax is expressed as an inclusive rate. When directly comparing the FairTax to our current income tax, the FairTax rate is 23 percent. Under the FairTax, if you pay $100 for a good, you pay $77 for the good and an inclusive $23 tax. If you take the $23 as a percentage of the $100 tendered, the tax rate is 23 percent. Unfortunately, opponents of the FairTax typically speak of the FairTax in terms of an exclusive tax, simply because the rate sounds higher to consumers. Not only do opponents of the FairTax fail to admi... Read More »

Washington Democrats passed another irresponsible, short-term funding bill because they can’t seem to get their priorities straight. Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (R-GA) spoke to Newsmax to shine a light on this fiscal malpractice. In case you missed it, here are the highlights: ON “RIGGED” SPENDING “All this money going to the different Senators' ‘pet projects’ and you got the two primary authors of this bill, they’re not gonna be responsible, they’re gonna be gone. “We are gonna be left holding the bag, we the citizens of America, the taxpayers.” ON THE RUSHED, WASTEFUL SPENDING PACKAGE “The w... ICYMI: We're in a recession

WYNTK: Millions of dollars in waste at southern border

The Biden Administration is violating federal law by refusing to build the wall. President Trump, in a bipartisan fashion, authorized funding for 110 miles of border wall construction. President Biden, unilaterally, canceled it on his first day in office. As of right now, only 20 miles have been constructed, with miles-long holes in between. This has left $350 million worth of unused border wall materials to sit and rust in a lot in Texas while overworked Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) Agents plead for what they were promised – a secure southern border. But that’s not all. Contractors are bei... Read More »

‘Do You Think We’re Stupid?’: Carter grills CBO Director on dems’ deficit claims

Congressional Budget Office (CBO) Director Phillip Swagel testified before the House Budget Committee yesterday. Democrats tried using the hearing to defend the Biden Administration’s poor fiscal and economic policies, but Republicans saw right through it. Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (R-GA), who sits on the Committee, shared the facts. In case you missed it, here are the highlights: ON THE DEFICIT ‘REDUCTION’ “Here we have the 2021 deficit, the second highest in American history, was $517 billion over the CBO’s estimate; yet, the Biden Administration is trying to tout this as a deficit reducti... Biden’s Budget is intergenerational theft

When small business owners make irresponsible budget decisions, they face the consequences. But if the federal government fails to balance its budget, it is the taxpayers who face the consequences. This phenomenon is playing out right before our eyes. President Biden’s FY2023 budget calls for $73 trillion in spending, a 66% increase from the previous decade, including $16 trillion in new public debt. These staggering numbers come after several rounds of COVID-19 relief packages spiked federal spending to its highest sustained level in American history. This budget is far from balanced and will...
