Internships

Internships in my Savannah, Brunswick or Washington, D.C. offices are a unique educational opportunity for students.

Interns may be asked to answer phones, respond to constituent inquiries and phone calls, run errands, research legislation for me and my legislative staff, assist with media clips, attend legislative hearings and briefings, give tours of the Capitol, answer constituent letters on various issues before the House and participate in office meetings. In addition, interns will have an opportunity to learn about the many other functions of a congressional office, the legislative process and the federal government by working closely with my legislative and communications staff members.

My office is always accepting resumes from college students interested in interning in one of my offices in the fall, spring and summer semesters. Although internships are unpaid, students gain invaluable work experience. Interns are responsible for finding and paying for their own travel and housing.
