Offshore Energy Development
Offshore Energy Development
America has an abundance of natural resources and opening up energy development in the Atlantic Ocean is a step to put people back to work, reduce energy costs and make America energy independent. Harnessing America’s energy potential in a safe and environmentally sound manner is a top priority of mine and offshore energy provides an opportunity for job creation and economic incentives in Georgia while strengthening our national security by reducing our dependence on foreign sources of energy from often hostile nations.
It has been estimated that energy development in the Atlantic could create more than 5,000 jobs in Georgia and raise over $700 million for the state budget by 2035 with revenue sharing in place.
While I am excited about the potential benefits, I am committed to ensuring our beautiful coast is protected.
I want to hear from you.
Do you support energy development in the Atlantic off the coast of Georgia and the Southeast as long as it is done in an environmentally sound manner?
