Carter on tragic passing of two heroic First District soldiers in Jordan

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (R-GA) issued the following statement in response to the tragic passing of two heroes from Georgia’s First Congressional District, Army Reserve Specialists Breonna Moffett and Kennedy Sanders, who were killed on January 28, 2024, while deployed in Jordan:

“Today is a somber day. Words cannot express the pain that these families are experiencing at the hands of a cowardly, Iran-backed terrorist group. Our brave soldiers put their lives on the line to defend our freedoms, and Specialists Breonna Moffett and Kennedy Sanders are the epitome of heroism, service, and patriotism. We are forever indebted to the Moffett and Sanders families, and I echo President Biden’s call that the United States will respond to this senseless act of terror.

“As we mourn the loss of these two bright women, we will remember them not just as soldiers, but as valued members of Georgia’s First Congressional District who were taken from us too soon. May their memories outlive us all,” said Rep. Carter.
