Carter celebrates SCOTUS limiting unelected bureaucrats’ control over American lives

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (R-GA) released the following statement today after the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) issued its Loper Bright Enterprises, et al. v. Raimondo ruling, overturning the 1984 decision in Chevron v. Natural Resources Defense Council, which established the Chevron deference and gave unelected bureaucrats overreaching regulatory control over American lives:

“For forty years, unelected bureaucrats have been given broad control to regulate every single industry, contradicting the proper role of the executive branch that is clearly defined in the Constitution. Overregulation, combined with a lack of accountability to the people and industries impacted by those regulations, gave us a bloated and inefficient regulatory state that puts special interests before hardworking Americans. Today’s ruling will ensure that the constitutional separation of powers is upheld and puts the American people back in charge of the legislative process,” said Rep. Carter.
