WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (R-GA) released the following statement after President Trump signed his first bill, the Laken Riley Act, into law:
“Law and order is being restored in this nation. President Trump was sent to Washington with a mandate to secure our southern border, and he has already taken a critical step to do so by signing this bill into law. Laken Riley deserved to be alive today, and this law will prevent another family from losing their child at the hands of someone who never should have been here in the first place. Promises made, promises kept.”
