WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (R-GA) released the following statement after President Trump delivered his first joint address to Congress of his second term in office: “It’s a new day in America. Tonight, President Trump outlined a vision for our nation where Americans, not illegal immigrants, are put first. “He is unleashing American energy dominance, ensuring a strong economy and lower cost-of-living for hardworking taxpayers. “He is restoring our respect on the world stage, sending a clear message that the United States is back and committed to peace. “He is working to end the fentanyl poisoning crisis that is killing our neighbors and loved ones every single day by securing the border and putting those responsible on notice. “He is eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse from our government, addressing the $36 trillion in federal debt that is crippling our nation. "And, unlike Georgia's senators, he is ensuring that biological men are not allowed to compete in women's sports, affording all women and girls the opportunity to achieve athletic excellence. “In less than 100 days, President Trump has already delivered on the mandate he received from 77 million Americans to shake up Washington, D.C. and restore common sense to our government. Tonight’s address was a reflection of his commitment to working on behalf of We, the People. “Promises made, promises kept.”
