Congressman Earl L. "Buddy" Carter (R-Ga.) slammed House Democrats today after they blocked a vote on the House floor to censure and condemn House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff for his false retelling of the phone conversation between President Trump and the president of Ukraine in a recent hearing and concealing his dealings with the whistleblower. 

"My colleagues on the other side of aisle again put partisan politics over the good of our nation tonight," said Carter. "Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff who has been charged with leading this ridiculous impeachment inquiry has clearly lied to the American people. Chairman Schiff made up his own version of the phone call at the base of this inquiry even though we've all seen the actual transcript. Just because the call didn't include the 'smoking gun' my colleagues were looking for does not mean the Chairman of the Intelligence Committee can blatantly mislead the American people. The Chairman also concealed his dealings with the whistleblower.

"No matter where you stand on impeachment, we should all agree that the American people deserve an open, honest and fair process. Unfortunately, with Chairman Schiff at the helm, our country is getting the exact opposite. By blocking this resolution tonight, House Democrats are allowing Representative Schiff to continue what he does best - mislead the American people."
