Carter Condemns Threats to Pack the Supreme Court
Washington,
September 30, 2020
Congressman Earl L. "Buddy" Carter (R-Ga.) has signed on to a resolution to condemn any attempt to expand the number of justices on the Supreme Court of the United States.
"Since 1869, the number of justices on the Supreme Court has remained at nine. It should stay that way," said Carter. "Unfortunately, because President Trump has rightfully made a nomination to the Supreme Court, Democrats are threatening to expand or 'pack' the Supreme Court. This is dangerous and threatens the delicate system of separation of powers and checks and balances that is in place. I will fight any attempt to pack the Court." Carter has signed H. Res. 1138. |
