Carter: Democrats are mugging the American people

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The House today passed another Continuing Resolution in lieu of a budget, sending a stop-gap funding measure to President Biden’s desk that will expire on December 16th.

Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (R-GA) proudly voted no on this short-sighted and irresponsible legislation.

“It’s time to restore fiscal responsibility in Washington. Congress’s primary roles are to provide for a strong national defense and fund the government. Right now, we are failing at both. When I was a small business owner, I had families relying on me for their paychecks. If I didn’t spend responsibly, they paid the price. Millions of taxpayers and their children are relying on us to be responsible stewards of their hard-earned dollars and, instead, Congress is turning its backs on them.

“When Republicans retake the majority and we fire Pelosi, we’ll say what Washington Democrats won’t: the buck stops with us. Responsible, balanced, and conservative budgeting that strengthens future generations instead of robbing them will be our top priority. Let’s fix this broken system before it collapses,” said Rep. Carter.
