ICYMI: President Yoon Suk Yeol Highlights Bryan County In Address to U.S. Congress

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Rep. Earl L. "Buddy" Carter attended the President of South Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol's joint address to Congress on Thursday. Rep. Carter was honored to serve in President Yeol's escort committee for the address to American lawmakers. 

During his address to Congress, President Yeol used Bryan County, GA as an example of good South Korean - American relations, citing the Hyundai plant that is under construction. The plant will bring thousands of jobs to Georgia and is the single largest economic development project in Georgia history.

President Yeol's Remarks:

"Take Bryan County, Georgia...

"Hyundai’s EV and battery plant is expected to be operational by late 2024.

"It will produce 300,000 electric vehicles every year.

"It will employ thousands of Americans.”

"It was truly an honor to welcome President Yeol to our nation's Capitol and to hear him address us regarding pressing, global issues, said Rep. Carter. "South Korea has shown time and time again their commitment not only to democracy, but to the American people and to Georgians and this Hyundai plant is the cornerstone of that relationship."
