Congressman Earl L. "Buddy" Carter (R-Ga.) applauded Georgia Governor Brian Kemp today after he announced "Georgia Access," a Section 1332 state relief waiver to the Affordable Care Act.
"As the only pharmacist currently serving in Congress, one of my top priorities is reducing the costs of health care," said Carter. "While we fight to return the free market, choice and control to our health care system at the federal level, I applaud Governor Kemp for implementing 'Georgia Access' at the state level to lower costs for Georgia patients. The Affordable Care Act has wreaked havoc on our state's health care system. Patients in many counties in the First District and across the state have only one insurer on the exchange to choose from. That's not a choice at all. I thank Governor Kemp and the General Assembly for taking action today to increase competition and lower health care costs for Georgians." |
