Congressman Earl L. "Buddy" Carter (R-Ga.) today applauded President Donald Trump after the Trump administration announced new actions to make health care costs more transparent.
The administration announced that the Department of Health and Human Services is finalizing a rule that will require hospitals to make prices publicly available online. The rule will also require health insurers to make cost sharing information available to patients. "As I always say, sunlight is the best disinfectant," said Carter. "The only way we will ever truly lower health care costs is to demand transparency in the entire health care supply chain and the President's announcement today is a strong, important step. Since day one, President Trump has been working with us to lower health care costs for all Americans and I thank him for continuing this critical mission today." Carter is the only pharmacist currently serving in the United States Congress and has been a leader in the fight to lower health care costs for Americans. |
