WASHINGTON, D.C. – Following the release of President Biden’s FY 2023 budget, Committee on the Budget Member Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (R-GA) slammed the President’s disregard for Americans’ hard-earned taxpayer dollars: “After more than a year of record federal spending, Biden’s ‘solution’ for struggling Americans is more of the same. More of the same inflationary spending, America Last policies that forced gas up to $4.25 a gallon, spiked crime in our major cities, weakened our posture on the global stage, flooded our streets with fentanyl, and forced small business after small business to shut their doors for good. “While Americans are shelling out an additional $3,500 a year courtesy of Biden’s inflation crisis, this President wants to impose $58 trillion in new taxes that will continue to eat into workers’ already empty wallets and harm job creators who are still clawing back from COVID-19 shutdowns. I have no doubt that, in the weeks to come, this Administration will point to small funding increases as half-hearted attempts to address their self-induced crises. To that I say, too little too late. I hope for the sake of this great nation that their band-aids are enough to keep our bleeding economy at bay.” ### |
